The PCIe‑8381 is an MXI‑Express remote controller for devices or systems cabled over PCI from a computer with a PCI Express slot. The PCIe‑8381 remote controller provides a x8 PCI Express link over a copper or fiber-optic cable to the PXIe‑8381 remote control module when used for PXI system control. Fiber‑optic MXI‑Express solutions are ideal for long‑distance‑device control and electrical isolation. This link is transparent to software applications and drivers, so industry‐standard desktop computers and servers can control connected devices with no additional programming. With NI remote controllers, PXI modules can be used as if they are PCI devices directly installed in the computer.
